SQ 482 and 481 to Cape Town + Sightseeings...(Lots of Pics!)

Postby OBRIA » Sat Jan 08, 2005 4:33 pm

Hello everybody...
My first time posting a trip report so, please be patient......

Was yawning as my cousin drived me to the airport to catch my 1:30a.m. flight to Cape Town....

After check-in, went to WHSmith to get a copy of Airliner World, then proceeded through immigration which was a breeze..

Soon at 12:45, boarding call was made for my flight, as it was total darkness, I had to look carefully for the rego. of the plane that would bring me to CPT and found out it was SVH.

Flight No: SQ 482
Registration: 9V-SVH
Gate: F50
Time of Departure: 0155
Arrival Time: 7.25 (South African time, the sun was shining brightly by then)

As the flight was in total darkness, there will be no pics for the departure and 3/4 of the flight to Cape Town until over Mauritius...

I boarded through door 2L, and was greeted by F/A Cheryl Ling...
She showed me to my seat and adressed me by my name..

I shall skip the take-off and cruising part as it would be quite boring without pictures...

So...starting from the sunrise, some pictures aren't really of good quality as my D70 clicks loudly as the shutters shut...

Sunrise....

From Door 3R....

Door 2R.....

Sun almost risen...

Went into the toilet for some toilet shots....

Any idea about this??? Chinese for a south african country??? Probably just returned from a Chinese destination...

When I left the toilet, it was already broad daylight (you can imagine how long I was in the toilet!)

More pics!!!

Entering the coast of Africa, Durban to be precise.. (at last!)

After that, meal service started....

I had noodles with roast pork above my Indian Vegetarian meal which was not edible...sorry I did not take a pic of it as I felt like vomiting each time I look at it...

But here's an out-of-focus shot of the noodle

After that, the captain came on the PA system and announced the preparation of arrival...
So a few more wing views and sceneries...

From now onwards, arrival shots, the sky was covered with clouds and the weather was foggy and high humidity..

Overview of the airport....

Turning for arrival .....

Over the poor people district with heavy condensation over the wing...

Touchdown!!!

After arrival and taxy to gate...

Reflection of SVH...

An out of focus shot of Air Botswana....

The End.....
