Comments: A hotel with a grand tradition, very choice location on
the Bund and within easy walking distance to the shopping street
(Nanjing Street East); very old fashioned interiors; security monitor in
bathroom so you can see from the tub who is at the door; very good
housekeeping staff; breakfast room staff not so friendly; front desk
staff - very proper, they let you know that this was once the choicest
hotel in Shanghai and groups are just to be endured at best - sit back
and enjoy the snob factor and location; famous jazz lounge - very
smoky; did I mention the location?.
