Comments: Another amazing project by Jumeirah International, situated opposite the Burj al Arab. The first phase is the Mina a Salam hotel with some of the Al Masyaf Villas. It is in the theme of an Arabian water village, with lagoons and dhows to take guests to other parts of the complex. There will be another more palatial hotel, more villas, a spa, and a souk with more than 150 shops by the end of this year. It is very tastefully done, unlike some brash and corny Las Vegas theme hotels I can think of. The service, as with all the Jumeirah hotels, is superb. We booked the Executive Club room, but was upgraded to the newly opened villas because the hotel was full. The Club Lounge serves the most impressive array of foods for breakfast, afternoon tea, and pre-dinner canapes that I have seen. There is a terrace where you can sit outside to enjoy the view of the Arabian Sea."
