Comments: “Schiphol operates one of the biggest
airports in Europe, namely Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. One of the airport’s
strong points is its excellent level of service, for which Schiphol has
been awarded more than 100 international prizes. The quality of the service
provided by Schiphol Group has therefore become one of the key factors
to its success. On February 13, 2003, Schiphol’s latest runway named
Polderbaan was opened. This 3,800 meters long runway is the longest of
the 6 runways. The Polderbaan 18R/36L is situated parallel to the Zwanenburgbaan
18C/36C and to the Aalsmeerbaan 18L/36L. Other runways are the Buiterveldertbaan
09/27, Kaagbaan 06/24 and the Oostbaan 04/22, which is the shortest runway
with a length of 2,014 meters. Schiphol Group owns and operates Amsterdam
Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam Airport and Lelystad Airport and also has
a 51% share in Eindhoven Airport. Outside the Netherlands, Schiphol USA
Inc. has a participating interest in JFK IAT, which operates at John F.
Kennedy Airport near New York and Schiphol Australia has a participating
interest in the Brisbane Airport Corporation, which operates Brisbane
Airport in Australia. Schiphol is also a great transfer airport and is
the home base for Royal Dutch Airlines KLM and also a hub for Northwest
Airlines. You will enjoy yourself while waiting for your next flight out."
